You’re Welcome

July 1st, 2008

In the recruiting business, it is easy to overlook the future of the workforce in today’s what-have-you-done-for-me-lately world. So, when we set out to create a foundation to help support worthwhile causes, it just made sense for so many reasons that they be those which support underprivileged children.

Last year, we were able to donate $20,000 to two great charities, Teach for America & The American Refugee Council.

The work these two organizations are doing is so necessary in our society, providing hope and opportunities to children who otherwise would not have any. As we get ready for the annual silent auction, which is held at our Fall ERE Expo, please consider helping support these causes.

This is our single-largest fundraising event of the year. The two easiest ways to help are to:

  1. Donate an item to be auctioned off in Florida this coming October. It can be something for personal use such as electronic products, airline tickets, hotel stays, etc. or something for professional use such as use of your product, job posting packages, etc.
  2. Come to the silent auction and bid on one of these great products.

I thank you in advance for your support!

2008 Auction Item Donations: Open for Business!

May 21st, 2008

Yay, it’s that time of year again!

It’s only six months until the ERE Expo Fall 2008, and that means you’ll be at the gorgeous, beachfront Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa in Hollywood Beach, Florida, in no time, networking once again with your peers and learning from the best. And it also means that we’re only six months away from the ERE Foundation’s third-annual silent auction, so no time like the present to start brainstorming for great items to donate.

Money raised at this year’s auction, on Tuesday, October 28, will go toward funding educational opportunities for children around the world, with an emphasis on those who are most in need. And hey, the child you help today might just become a great candidate for your company tomorrow!

The great news is that the ERE Foundation is now open for your very generous (tax-deductible!) donations. So whether it’s a trial subscription to your company’s software, or a flat-screen TV, or two plane tickets to Vegas, or perhaps something even wilder, make your commitment to helping needy children heard!

Once your donation arrives, your company’s generous donation will be featured on the ERE Foundation website and on-location signage prior to the silent auction at ERE Expo Fall 2008.

So start brainstorming ideas for what you can donate today! If you already have some cool item ideas, send ‘em on over to Kate Bruener (kate@ere.net). If you need ideas, then check out the list of last year’s awesome donations. Any other questions, just shoot me an email (elaine@ere.net).

2006 financials and 501(c)3 status

January 27th, 2007

Great news - the United States Internal Revenue Service has notified ERE Foundation, Inc. that we have been recognized as a 501(c)3 organization.

This means that all contributions made to the ERE Foundation since July 24, 2006 are tax deductible!

As a new Foundation, we’re off to a good start - in our first partial year of operations, we raised almost $30,000 for children’s educational causes, and we are just getting started!

In the spirit of transparency, we have also publicly posted the Foundations’ 2006 financial information here.

Many thanks to all the people who helped us organize and raise money, in particular Dick Gast, Jason Davis and Sean Rehder!

Your Donations Will Go Far

September 15th, 2006

The ERE Silent Auction this week was a massive success. A big thanks to all the bidders and all those whose winning bids will get them iPods, trips to Amsterdam, TVs, and more.

The ERE Foundation will invest the money (more than $19,000!), where it will go a long way toward helping children. ERE will pay all administrative expenses and 100% of the funds will go to charitable causes.

Kudos to the donors.
