As has become tradition over the past few years, we are proud to announce that we will be holding a poker tournament to support the ERE Foundation at this year’s ERE Expo 2010 Spring conference in San Diego. The tournament will take place on Monday, March 15 at 9 p.m. at the Hard Rock in San Diego, and go until we have a winner, with all proceeds going to the Foundation.

At our previous tournament this past fall in Florida, we were able to raise over $7,000 which will be donated to causes which fulfill the Foundation’s mission to support educational opportunities for disadvantaged young people, with a particular emphasis on parts of the world where our funds will have the greatest impact.

The proceeds from this tournament will go directly to Haiti, to support the children affected by the devastating earthquake.

To RSVP to the tournament, click here.

See you in San Diego for a great night of fun, networking and supporting a great cause!

For the past three years, the ERE Foundation has been raising money through a variety of efforts including a silent auction at our annual Fall ERE Expo, and several poker tournaments throughout the year.

The Foundation was established under the mission to support education and literacy programs that provide underprivileged young people with the skills they need for future careers all over the world. Yesterday, as ERE Expo 2009 Spring came to a close in San Diego, our board member Gerry Crispin made a special announcement that this year, the ERE Foundation would be donating $50,000 to the Central Asia Institute, an organization which promotes and supports community-based education, especially for girls, in remote regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan.

None of this would have been possible without the help of several people; ERE Foundation board members Gerry Crispin & Kate Bruener, Dick Gast for organizing and running the annual silent auction, Monster for sponsoring the silent auction and matching the auction donations dollar for dollar ($6,150), Jason Davis for organizing the poker tournaments, and JobTarget for sponsoring the poker tournaments.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone in the recruiting community that participated in our fundraising events and gave so generously — you’ve all made this possible.

Today we have a donation from Improved Experience — a one-year subscription to Get Better Hiresâ„¢.

Get Better Hires™ is a real-time feedback portal that provides critical insight into why and how candidates and new employees become more or less engaged with your company during the selection, hiring and onboarding process. Do you know, for example…

What are the earliest impressions of your company for those you hire, and for those you don’t?

How is your business reputation or company culture perceived by non- or new-employees?

Are your jobs and pay really market-competitive?

In what ways do your recruiters and interviewers engage or disengage potential hires?

Could your process to hire and onboard employees be more efficient or friendly?

How do candidates perceive the services of your outsourced vendors?

In this 12-month subscription package, you’ll get full access to a dashboard with hundreds of real-time data points across 15 categories of feedback. You’ll also get expert monthly analysis of feedback trends and patterns, talent pool demographics, and hotspots such as diversity, generational perspectives, and employer-brand perception. Use this information to build, support, or improve recruitment and retention strategies and programs for your company. Value: $15,000 (varies with size of business and hiring volume). This offer is for a non-automated version of the software in which the winner agrees to provide email addresses of survey participants on a routinely scheduled basis during the subscription period.
